Dear
Bill,
On
Sunday I took my narrowboat, Trincomalee II, with four of five others on
board out for a run, from Godalming towards Guildford. We had progressed no
more than a mile when my rudder began to shake in a involuntary fashion and
an extraordinary rattle, in time with the engine revolutions, persisted.
We
moored up and opened the weed hatch, allowing the water settle to improve
visability in order to show us the culprit - a substantial length of blue
coloured narrow guage rope, with a small shackle attached. I reached down
with my knife, cutting a 3 foot length of the rope and the shackle away
from what appeared a bee-hive sized compacted ball of rope between the
propeller and where the main shaft enters the hull. My sailing chums
on-board looked down and said "What you need is a dry dock!"
I
produced my Prop Cleaner with a confident grin. Three upward pulls and a
further length of about 3 feet of rope emerged still attached to the
cleaner, so I didn't have to reach into the freezing cold water to retrieve
it. The compacted nature of the rope twist around the prop shaft was now
clear and was looking a formidable challenge. I used the hack saw element
of my Prop Cleaner to reduce the tension on the rope. Five more pulls
later, still having not put my hand in the water, my prop was clear. This
whole episode took no more than 7 minutes and we continued on our journey,
much to everyone's delight and satisfaction.
The
Prop Cleaner is quite superb. It's adaptability and strength, along with the
quality of the various cutting edges, reduced the challenge of the worst
muddle I have ever experienced and in a few minutes - not an hour, rather
than hacking away in the freezing cold water as the case had been in the
past.
Thank
you again for a brilliant tool!

Bargee Bill,
Just a few lines to say how pleased I am with your product, the service
you gave me was well above what was expected, if only all companies cared
about their customers as you do.
I can really recommend your product to anyone with a narrowboat, and I
will. Everyone should have a “Bargee Bill” on their boat, my wife certainly
agrees, it’s her that used to have to put her hands down the Weed Hatch,
not now though, she thanks you too.

Since
the invention of the Prop Cleaner, the Mill Hotel Restaurant Cruiser has
never been late or cancelled.
It has
also helped under Health and Safety, as I cannot knowingly ask my staff to
put their hands where there might be risk of injury.
I look
upon the Prop Cleaner as an insurance that I will not let our Diners down.
Ofter all, you do not go out in your car without a car jack.

Dear Bargee Bill,
Your wonderful Bargee Bill
arrived this morning and what a superbly crafted tool it is. It has given
me much confidence in dealing with whatever might lie in wait for me, down
in the murky depths of the weed-hatch!
Thank you again. When
opportunities permit, I will spread the word!
With very best wishes to you,
